A Merseyside nursery has installed Big Brotherstyle cameras, and more nurseries will follow suit, it is claimed today.

Gingerbread Cottage Day Nursery in Fazakerley installed cameras at its Field Lane premises in January.

They allow parents to check on their children at the touch of a button via internet access.

Gingerbread owner Stephen Collins, 33, says it gives parents peace of mind and the system is now something a lot of parents want, following a recent BBC documentary alleging bad practice at nurseries in Stoke, Manchester and London.
