A biometric, unlike a pin or card, cannot be obtained from or given to
another person. Biometric systems rely on a user providing a personal
biometric sample to gain access. This increases the probability that it
is the authorised person entering and removes the possibility of card
sharing, "buddy punching" or similar system abuses.

The Fingerprint & Proximity
Reader is a fingerprint door entry system that has an inbuilt proximity
card reader. Its various operating modes respect individual user
preference and give flexibility to the security level required.
For example, while the majority of staff and parents would use
fingerprint verification to gain access, a disabled parent/staff who is
unable to provide a fingerprint sample may use a proximity card instead.
Both fingerprint and card verification can be used together if increased
security is required.

Fingerprint identification is the most secure form of access
control. The chances of two people having the same fingerprint is
1 in 64 billion - and because there are no pass cards or security
numbers involved, the system is the easiest to use and maintain on
an ongoing basis.
Individual fingerprints are stored in the system as a mathematical
algorithm (rather than as a readable image) ensuring individual
privacy is protected whilst making it virtually impossible to
cheat the system.
The
good news for nurseries is that although this was once 'sci-fi'
technology, it has now become widely used by many businesses. As a
